Children, Youth and Families
Our hope is to accompany children and youth as they experience the love of God. We strive to nurture the spiritual values of childhood, such as wonder and delight, as they grow. If you have questions, would like further information, or would like to receive our Family Ministry newsletter, please contact the Rev. Silas Kotnour.

Our primary method of formation for children ages 3-10 is Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to formation that is rooted in Montessori pedagogy and principles to ponder alongside children the essentials of our Christian tradition.
Central to Catechesis is the Atrium, a prepared environment with handmade materials that introduce children to central Scriptural texts and moments in the liturgy.
Each Atrium is led by a catechesis, an adult in the parish who has been trained to help the child fall in love with God and explore their role in God’s plan.
At All Saints, we have a Level 1 Atrium for 3-6 year olds and a Level 2 Atrium for 6-9 year olds.
Our Level 1 Atrium focuses on the proclamation that Jesus Good Shepherd knows us each and calls us by name.
In Level 2, as children begin to explore what it means to live together in Jesus.
During the school year, both Level 1 and Level 2 meet from 10am to 11:15am in their Atria.
During the summer, 3-9 year old children are invited to work and pray together in the Level 2 Atrium.
If you are interested in learning more about Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, please reach out to familyminister@allsaintsbrookline.org.

Serve at All Saints
Worship Ministries We worship God together, and it takes the whole church to celebrate the Eucharist together. There are particular ways that you can offer your time and talents to assist our worship. Several groups work to prepare our worship and assist during services.
The Altar Guild prepares the altar for Holy Communion and the church for special services.
Lectors read the lessons from the Bible and read the Prayers of the People.
Altar and Intinction ministers serve the chalice of Holy Communion.
Ushers welcome people and help them find what they need for the service.
Healing Ministers pray with those who desire healing for themselves or someone else in the Langdon Chapel during Holy Communion.
The All Saints Choir sings for most liturgies from September through Trinity Sunday and presents occasional concerts.
Our Stream Team ensures that people are able to join in our worship from beyond our building.
Our Flower Guild supplies and arranges flowers for special services and holidays.
People of all ages are welcome to serve in any of these roles. Please email our parish administrator if you’re interested in being a part of any of our Worship Ministries.
Fellowship and Community MinistriesThe Social Hour Ministry hosts the informal reception after our Service on Sunday mornings. Every week, there is a different volunteer or volunteers who provide coffee, juice, and food. You can be as simple or creative as you wish. Baked goods; home made or store bought, cheese and meats: it's all up to you!
We provide the ground Fair Trade coffee, some crackers and cookies, paper plates and cups. We welcome individuals and families, and it's a great way to meet many of your fellow parishioners.
The Guild Room Art Team curates a lovely, formal setting for exhibiting and potentially selling a variety of art forms, including oil and watercolor paintings, photographs, etchings, quilts, and occasional pottery, jewelry, or other unique pieces. Exhibits are typically on display for eight to ten weeks and are viewed during Social Hour after services, as well as by groups and receptions that use the room. We work with each artist on installation and provide a brief introduction and presentation during Social Hour.
Serve in the Community
Our parish has a very active outreach program. The Outreach Committee helps parishioners find ways of contributing time, talent, and treasure to areas beyond All Saints Parish.
Involvement in an Outreach ministry is a good way to meet fellow parishioners and to allow the Spirit to move in our lives, spreading the love of God to our neighbors.
If you have any questions or would like to become involved with one of the current projects or propose a new project, please contact the chair of the Outreach Steering Committee. The committee always welcomes new members.
MANNA MealsOur parish households faithfully support the MANNA community by providing a hearty meal on the fourth Monday of every month. Our unhoused and unstably housed friends in MANNA have shown their resiliency, faith, and teamwork as they daily face unthinkable challenges for safety, food, and shelter.
Supporting ImmigrantsSince December 2024, a team from All Saints has worked with agencies like the Brazilian Workers Center and Immigrant Families Services Institute to welcome immigrant family neighbors, offering space for respite as well as food, clothing, transportation, and other services. As the needs of our immigrant neighbors shift, so too does our ministry: we are now working with Episcopal City Mission and LUCE, an immigrant justice advocacy organization in Massachusetts, to help prepare advocacy and rights materials for LUCE volunteers to distribute to local businesses.
To learn more about migrant justice, please visit the Emergency Action Network of Episcipal City Mission and LUCE.
Brookline Food PantryAll Saints Parish has been supporting the Brookline Food Pantry for over 25 years. We have donation receptacles in the Parish House where people bring food items, which are then delivered to the food pantry. The youth of our parish also participate in special activities such as making pies at Thanksgiving. Monetary donations allow the food pantry to purchase food from the Greater Boston Food Bank at significantly reduced rates, help when a freezer or refrigerator needs immediate repairs, and help purchase or rent vehicles for food pickup and for delivery to home-bound residents.
Groceries for B-READY FamiliesSt. Stephen's Parish in Boston’s South End provides bags of groceries to their B-READY families. We commit to providing 50 bags of groceries and 10 bottles of laundry detergent or pods per month.
Winter Walk to End HomelessnessThe Winter Walk is a Boston-based initiative whose mission is to raise funds to support Boston organizations working on prevention, support, and care for our unhoused siblings. The All Saints team holds an annual after-church bake sale to raise funds for Winter Walk. All Saints members (and the occasional family dog) walk the two-mile route shoulder to shoulder with others, housed and unhoused.
