Hi everyone, I was asked to come up here and share what this space and community mean to me. I was baptized here in the sanctuary when I was six weeks old by David Killian surrounded by tons of family. From then on, I practically grew up here.
I can look around and see every stage of my life just in this building. I see animal crackers and apple juice and the nurse in the nursery, memorizing the Lord’s prayer and godly play, and singing my heart out for call the yells with Emily. I climb trees outside, fun beans and my cupcakes and on my first night watch witness so he carried cut your hair on fire.
I’ve even developed my own weekly routine of getting strange looks in the guild’s room while I prepare a cup of coffee with cream, no sugar for my mom, along with a report of what they have for social hour so she could decide whether or not it is worth leaving her captivating conversations. It’s been a while since I first braved those clusters of people while being at knee level, I might add that I don’t get it anymore. From all of those two, three weeks ago, when I got to acolyte with my little sister for her first time.
All of these memories are part of who I become. I’ll admit I wrote this last night. And as I thought of the past, I couldn’t believe how many moments I could recall. This community has had such an impact on the person I am today. So on behalf of that little six week old baby, Thank you
