8 September (via Zoom)
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” These words were written by Howard Thurman (1899-1981), a major figure in the civil rights movement, but also an educator and mystic. Some of us have already heard or said Thurman’s prayers during church service or courageous conversations. Our discussion of his book Meditations of the Heart will be an opportunity to get better acquainted with his spirituality. For more information and the Zoom link, contact Jonas Barciauskas.
