Sunday, 21 May, 2023, 5 pm

The All Saints Choir will offer Choral Evensong for the Feast of Lydia of Thyatira. The service features music by Stephen Paulus, Sarah MacDonald, Harold Friedell, and Judith Weir.
We are delighted to welcome The Rev. Rita Powell as our guest preacher.
Rita is the chaplain for the Harvard Episcopal Community. She earned her BA from Barnard College of Columbia University, where she served as captain of the varsity softball team. Her Master of Divinity is from Yale Divinity School, where she was awarded the William Muehl Preaching Prize. She spent some years living and working with the monastic community in Taizé, France. She also served as the Youth Missioner in the Diocese of South Dakota before coming to Boston as the Associate Rector for Liturgy and Music at Trinity Church in Copley Square.
Lydia of Thyatira is considered the first documented convert to Christianity in Europe (Acts 16). She was a prosperous cloth merchant living in Philippi (Greece) whose home served as a base of operations for Paul and his companions.
