RUAH Early Fall 2004 programs

Wisdom of Women, facilitated by Nancy Corcoran, Thursdays, September 9 and 23, October 7 and 21, November 4 and 18, December 2 and 16, 9:30 am-1:30 pm. $12 per session.

In Good Time: Skills and Insights for a Well-Timed Life, lecture and retreat on time management as spiritual practice and creative act, led by Pam Kristan, Friday, September 17, 7:00-8:30 pm, and Saturday, September 18, 10 am-4 pm. Friday evening lecture fee: $10. Friday lecture and Saturday retreat: $45.

Julian of Norwich: All's Well, led by the Rev. Dr. Mark Burrows, Thursday, September 23, 7:00-8:30 pm, Suggested Donation: $10; $5 for seniors, students, unemployed and underemployed.

The Triumph of Wounded Souls: Seven Holocaust Survivors' Lives, Book Discussion with author Bernice Lerner, Thursday, October 7, 7:00-8:30 pm. Suggested Donation: $10; $5 for seniors, students, unemployed and underemployed. Copies of book available for sale.

Chinese GungFu Style Tea Ceremony: Creating Peace and Harmony, led by Patricia Warren, Thursday evening, October 4, and repeated on November 18, 7:00-8:30 pm. Fee: $25. Payment requested two days in advance. Space is limited, so please register early.

Peace and Reconciliation Film Festival, Films and Discussion led by filmmakers Dr. John Michalcyzk and Fr. Raymond Helmick.

  • Saturday, October 9, 1:00 pm: "Unexpected Openings" (Northern Ireland); 3:30 pm: "Prelude to Kosovo: War and Peace in Bosnia and Croatia;"
  • Saturday, October 16, 1:00 pm: "South Africa: Beyond a Miracle;" 3:30 pm: "Different Drummers: Daring to Make Peace in the Mideast."

In Celebration of Rumi: An Evening of Poetry, Dance and Music. Friday, October 22, 7:30 pm, Upper Noyes Hall, Andover Newton Theological School. $15; $7 for seniors, students, unemployed and underemployed. Watch for information on other programs for our Rumi weekend, which will include a zikr and a workshop on Sufism.

Spirituality and Politics, led by The Rt. Rev. M. Thomas Shaw, SSJE, Thursday, October 28, 7:00-8:30 pm. Suggested Donation: $10; $5 for seniors, students, unemployed and underemployed.

Reiki Jin Kei Do Level One: Reiki in the Way of Wisdom and Compassion (Intensive), led by Patricia Warren. Friday, November 5, 7:00-8:30 pm and Saturday, November 6, Noon-5:30 pm. Fee: $175 ($165 for RUAH members). Registration fee of $25 due by October 28.
