The Choir of All Saints is a proud ornament to our beautiful liturgy and to the reputation of All Saints Parish as a welcoming home to all the sacred arts. The choir currently numbers approximately thirty-five singers, mostly volunteers. A few singers are paid to provide leadership in each of the four sections and to ensure continuity and musical quality in the week by week progress of the season of services. The choir is always open to new, qualified singers. No audition is required, although some substantial choral experience is assumed. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings-7:30 to 9:00-during the choir season which runs from September to June. There is a warm-up rehearsal on Sundays at 9:30 am. If singing in the choir is something that your background, experience, and talent has prepared you for, please give Donald Teeters a call at the church (617-738-1810 x12) to discuss the matter.

Artist for September and October is Noreen Monroe Guzie of Calgary, Canada, a dear friend of parishioner Christian Brocato. The Guild Room show is a retrospective of Noreen's work featuring original work in ink and watercolor, prints of commissioned and published work, and cards celebrating friendship. Ms. Guzi has been developing her lettering skills since 1979. She taught calligraphy classes and workshops in Canada and the U.S. for twenty years. Her best learning experiences were the eighteen years at a Senior's Center, and the six years as instructor and mentor at Drumheller Penitentiary in the badlands of Alberta. Noreen's commissioned work features a variety of alphabets to convey the spirit of the text. Her published work includes logos, unique chapter headings, and book jackets. Interpretive calligraphy illustrates two books she co-authored with her late husband Tad Guzie, About Men and Woman and Journey to Self Awareness (Paulist). A reception will be held for the artist in September.

On the Move. As I write this mid-summer note, I am surrounded by boxes and considering the sometimes very literal sense in which pilgrims follow Jesus. In September I will begin serving as Priest Associate at Grace Episcopal Church in Amherst, a lovely old church on the town common. If any of you plan to head out to western Massachusetts some weekend, please come worship with us (the address is 14 Boltwood Ave., Amherst, MA 01002-2301). As always, my preaching and retreat schedule is posted at www.holyhunger.com. Blessings to you all. --Margaret Bullitt-Jonas

Parents with Small Children Group. A new group is forming to provide support to parents with small children. We all know the joys of caring for and being with our children. But heavy responsibilities can be stressful, and attending to our children's needs can make us feel isolated and unmindful of our own needs. Come join an organizational meeting where we will talk about what be most helpful to you and what should be the focus of our group. We will meet on Wednesday, September 15, 10:00-11:00 am at All Saints. For more information, contact Eileen Sweeney, 617-965-8133, eileen.sweeney@bc.edu, or Margaret Hakimian, 617-731-3380, magrez@hotmail.com.
