RUAH Early Winter 2005 programs

Contemplative Prayer Group, led by Carol Mullikin, a Quaker minister and RUAH Intern from Andover Newton Theological School, January 18-May 3, Tuesday evenings, 7:00-8:30 pm. Contemplative prayer, in the sacred word tradition of Centering Prayer and Fr. John Main, is a contemporary meditation practice based on ancient traditions. Sessions will include prayer and a time for sharing or discussion will follow.

Women of Wisdom, led by Nancy Corcoran, Thursdays, January 13 & 27, February 10 & 24, March 10 & 31, April 7 & 21, May 5 & 19, 9:30 am-1:30 pm. This program is for women of all faith backgrounds who wish to come together to reflect on what they have learned in their life journeys, the spiritual transformations they have experienced, and the special rewards and trials of aging. $12 per session. Chinese Gungfu Style Tea Ceremony: Creating Peace and Harmony, led by Patricia Warren, Reiki Master, Thursday evenings, February 3, May 12, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Fee: $25. Please call (617) 277-0036 for more information.

Puja of Compassion, led by Tibetan nuns of Keydong nunnery, Wednesday, March 2, 7:00-8:30 pm at The Meetinghouse, Andover Newton Theological School. Fee: $10; $5 for students, seniors and unemployed. Please call (617) 277-0036 for more information. The Tibetan nuns of Keydong nunnery in Tibet will perform a puja (a blessing) of compassion, dedicated to the Bodhissatva ideal represented by Avalokitesvara. The Keydong nunnery, founded 130 years ago, is the first Tibetan Institution to provide higher education for Buddhist nuns. This practice is a traditional way to purify the mind, and includes visualizations, verse recitations, distinction and beautiful overtone chanting, all complemented by heartfelt prayer.

 

CELTIC SPIRITUALITY

All Saints Parish is a center of Celtic Christian spirituality. Courses, workshops, and study groups meet regularly to deepen spiritual understanding and practice and to maintain a connection with Celtic holy places. The Holy Eucharist, integrating Celtic, Anglican, Catholic, and Protestant elements, is celebrated twice each week, Saturdays at 5:00 pm and Wednesdays at 6:15 pm.
